This book is made of those unspoken words: the ones that stayed hidden in a mother's pallu, in a school classroom that is now only a memory, in the loneliness of a crowded city, and in the silence of "what will people say" that we all wear around us.

Neeraj's poems give voice to the small moments of life that we feel but cannot say. Every page holds a mirror, sometimes in the form of a ghazal, sometimes in plain, honest speech.

If you too have ever left something unsaid while feeling everything, these words are yours.

About the author

Neeraj is a chartered accountant by profession and currently teaches commerce at Asian International School, Kolkata. A seasoned reader and a poet at heart, he weaves everyday life, childhood memories, society's double standards and the hope of living on after every hardship into his words. "Unkahe Lafz" is a simple, honest collection of those unspoken feelings.

कुछ बातें ज़ुबान तक आते आते रुक जाती हैं...
कुछ एहसास सिर्फ़ आँखों में ही रह जाते हैं...

यह किताब उन्हीं अनकहे लफ़्ज़ों की है, जो कभी माँ के आँचल में छुपे रहे, कभी स्कूल के उस क्लासरूम में जो अब सिर्फ़ याद है, कभी भीड़ भरे शहर में एक अकेलेपन बनकर, और कभी "लोग क्या कहेंगे" की उस चुप्पी में जो हम सब ओढ़े फिरते हैं।

नीरज की ये नज़्में ज़िंदगी के उन्हीं छोटे छोटे पलों को शब्द देती हैं, जिन्हें हम महसूस तो करते हैं, पर कह नहीं पाते। हर पन्ने पर एक आईना है, कहीं ग़ज़ल की सूरत में, कहीं सीधी सच्ची बात में।

अगर आपने भी कभी कुछ कहा नहीं, पर सब कुछ महसूस किया है, तो ये लफ़्ज़ आपके ही हैं।

लेखक के बारे में

नीरज पेशे से चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट हैं और वर्तमान में एशियन इंटरनेशनल स्कूल, कोलकाता में कॉमर्स फैकल्टी हैं। एक अनुभवी पाठक और मन से कवि, वे रोज़मर्रा की ज़िंदगी, बचपन की यादों, समाज के दोहरे मापदंडों और हर मुश्किल के बाद भी जीने की उम्मीद को अपने शब्दों में पिरोते हैं। "अनकहे लफ़्ज़" उन्हीं अनकही भावनाओं का सादा, ईमानदार संग्रह है।
