About the Role
We regularly commission experienced proofreaders to work on QuillBees titles across fiction, non-fiction, educational content, and marketing copy. If you have a sharp eye and a love of language, we would love to hear from you.
What You Will Do
- Proofread final-stage manuscripts against house style and author preferences
- Mark corrections clearly using standard proofreading marks or tracked changes in Word
- Check consistency of spelling, punctuation, hyphenation, and formatting throughout
- Flag any factual inconsistencies or queries for the editorial team
- Deliver work on time to agreed schedules
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable proofreading experience — publishing, media, or agency background preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong command of English
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without chasing
- Experience with fiction, children's books, or educational content is a plus
